Thruxton Parish Archive

In 2024 two donations to the Parish Council started our Archive. We have a wealth of documents, maps, photographs, family histories and records of things relating to the Parish of Thruxton and its surroundings. A small, friendly group of volunteers are sorting, cataloguing, preserving, digitising and expanding all these records. We would love to have more help to progress this work.

Any photographs, maps, family histories and any other documents or ephemera would be very welcome either loaned for copying or donated; this material can help expand our knowledge of the history of our Parish and its people.

We have already had one exhibition in the Memorial Hall and given a talk on “200 years of changes in our Villages” to our school’s Year 1 students. We are planning more talks and events.

If you would like to help, working from home, or with other volunteers please contact Bill Brewer 07834 895 123, Steve Counsell 01264 773296 or Peter Christie 07783 000 753.
